Meet Dr. Lafferty and Dave
Dr. Lafferty is a graduate of Texas A&M University with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Bachelor of Science degrees in 2000. She and her husband, Dave, immediately moved to Oakley where she began her career treating all critters great, but small. Dr. Lafferty and Dave purchased Oakley Veterinary Medical Center in 2004 and continue the long-standing tradition of exemplary medical care for our patients and quality customer service for our clients.

Dave retired from his 30 year-long Chef career shortly after the purchase and is now running the show as the Hospital Administrator. He frequently treats the staff to something yummy he has cooked up and no one goes hungry.

Sailing, fishing, good food and wine are some of the activities enjoyed in their off hours. They share a home with their 2 dogs, Lucy and Dylan, 5 cats, Buyer (and Seller sometimes), Mark, Hillary, and Dash.

Meet Stacey
Stacey started at OVMC in February 2005 as part of her internship and liked it so much she started working in July as a nurse. She has always loved animals and knew that she wanted to have a career working with them as well. She has 1 dog, and 2 cats. She attended Loma Vista Adult Education in Concord and completed a nine-month Veterinary Assistant Program. She received her class certificate and is now doing what she loves.

Jessica
Jessica knew from the beginning that she liked working with animals. As a member of 4H and a volunteer at the animal shelter from the age of 12, she was trying to help animals. When it was time to go to college she wanted to pursue her animal dreams, so off she went to study equine (horses). Now with a horse, 3 dogs, 2 cats, and a rabbit.  Jessica continues her passion of working with animals at Oakley Veterinary Medical Center and has been since May 2005.
Meet Tresa
Tresa always knew she would work with animals. Even as a little girl she was rescuing birds, reptiles, cats, etc. and bringing them home. She started at Oakley Veterinary Medical Center in 1996 as a receptionist, but, because she preferred helping with the animals, she was made a veterinary assistant in 1997. Tresa's experience is working with birds, pocket pets, reptiles, and of course dogs and cats. When not working part time, she is a full time Mom and enjoys spending time with her son, husband, and her own zoo at home which includes 3 birds, 2 cats, and 2 horses.
Meet Laurie T.

Laurie has been a part of our front office staff since April 07. Not having any previous veterinary experience she feels she is learning from the best, in all aspects of the business. She strives to serve you with great customer service, delivered with kindness and compassion. She is pictured here with her two cats Laila & Marti and her chocolate Lab. Molly. Laurie has always had animals in her life from the very smallest to the largest, having shown Arabian horses for many years. She shares the joy of boating, fishing and camping with her husband, daughter and son (who are now grown & on their own!!).
Meet Lauri P.

Lauri is a veterinary assistant and has been with Oakley Veterinary Medical Center since July of 2008. Before working at OVMC she had 4 years experience in the veterinary field and a lifetime of loving, raising, and caring for animals.  Lauri lives with her 2 sons, daughter, 2 dogs, 5 cats, 2 snakes, 4 geckos and many fish.

Meet Spencer
Spencer spent his time around a construction site before he came to us. Until he had a little construction accident that resulted in a tail amputation. Spencer is approximately 6 years old. Spencer has been part of the Oakley Veterinary welcoming staff since august 2004.

Meet Spider

Spider got her name because she was found wandering Antioch around Halloween in 2006. She was very thin and had a painful mouth. After a few teeth being removed and a lot of love and cookies she is a fat happy kitty again. Very playful and likes to help type on the computer. Our guess is she is about 9 years old.
Dr. Hansen
Dr. Hansen is a recent graduate from UC Davis.  You can find him at Oakley Vet a few days a week.
Meet Brandy
Brandy is a Veterinary Receptionist and a Nurse and has 15 years experience with Oakley Veterinary Medical Center. She is committed to keeping your pets healthy and happy. With her friendly attitude, and over 22 years in the field, Brandy will provide you excellent customer service from the moment you walk in the door. She is a licensed Falconer and enjoys her small zoo of 6 cats, a dog, a mangrove monitor, a green iguana, 2 snakes, a Red-tailed hawk and assorted fish.
Meet Mike.
